Processing Medical Trauma and Restoring Your System
Medical trauma is often an "invisible" burden. When our bodies go through something painful or overwhelming—especially when we feel a lack of control—our nervous system can get stuck in a loop of fight, flight, or freeze.
I use a combination of EMDR therapy and somatic techniques to help you break that loop. EMDR is a highly effective tool for processing the specific "stuck" memories of medical events, surgeries, or diagnoses that are still affecting your daily life.
How it works:
Creating a Toolkit: We start by building somatic resources to help you feel grounded and safe during the healing process.
Reprocessing with EMDR: We target the sights, sounds, and feelings of the medical trauma that are currently driving your triggers and overwhelm.
Restoring Control: As we process these experiences, you’ll find that your body feels more regulated, less reactive, and more "yours" again.
